Wellington National Golf Club
About
Located in the small community of Wellington, Wellington National Golf Club (previously known as Binks Forest Golf Club) offers a tranquil forest setting that is more reminiscent of a North Carolina course than a Florida course. After opening in 1990 to much acclaim, the course unfortunately suffered from poor management and closed for a period of time but successfully reopened in 2007 with a newly renovated 18-hole golf course.
The layout is tight and thanks to the abundant trees, very narrow at some spots. Mature pines line the narrow fairways and the greens roll fast and true. The course thoughtfully incorporates the terrain, utilizing the natural elevation changes and water features. The bunkers were strategically placed to make you really strategize your club selection and target. One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it can truly accommodate all different skill levels with yardages ranging from 5,268 to 7,253.

Fairways need help.
Greens are in pretty good shape but fairways and tees are patchy. Back nine is better than the front nine.
Tall pines & nice surroundings
Great outting
very good value for the type of course
This course has well protected greens (Bunkers)
We are visitors from England and we played a personal Match Play. Enjoyed playing here. Greens good but fairways poor but that didn't detract from our pleasure in playing this course.
!8th Hole magnificent - what a finish.
Poor condition.
Fairway conditions are horrible. Tees not much better. Greens are pretty good considering how bad the rest of the course is conditioned. This course has tons of potential but the way it is now I wouldn't play it again.
Needs improvements
Even though new owners took over last year I have seen little improvement. Still no yardage markers on the course and all the flags where the same colour with no posted pin positions, hard time trying to figure out distance to the hole. Fairways still shabby and greens although in better condition were not cut very well. Will only play here if I get a hot deal as I enjoy the layout.
Great challenge, poor condition.
I enjoy this course for the challenge that it presents. It's long and tight. The condition of the greens are good enough to enjoy but the fairways are junk. If you play it up then it shouldn't matter though. I will be back again and again for $11!
Great layout however like many courses nowadays, apparent financial problems resulted in bad condition of fairways.
Have played here for years. It's a great layout however it appears that financial problems have caused fairway conditions to go from A to F and anywhere in between in any given year. When we played yesterday, the greens were good but fairways pretty bad. I don't mind that much, since I roll the ball everywhere, but most people would.
Like many of the courses we've played this summer for great discounted rates, it was nobody in front and nobody behind.
is not in a good shape
greens are ok
fairways and tees are in not good conditions
good course to much rain !!!
I only got to play 6 holes then it started to pour and we got rained out . of course binks told me they couldn't help me I have to take it up with golf now .
that's a waste of time !!!
WELL MAINTAINED AND A JOY TO PLAY
Course is well maintained and is an enjoyable challenge... I am a newer player, so the wider fairways provided me an opportunity to play, rather than spend to much time looking for lost balls... enough bunkers and water to be interesting, yet not intimidating... the personnel are very cordial and helpful...
All right for the money
The couse is so-so with narrow fairways, with a lot of sand.
The course is a great value
Well laid out course. Plenty of shade trees to keep you
Comfortable on a hot summer afternoon
In bad shape
I will not play this course again. The green on the fairways are weeds, not grass.
There are no distance markers on the tee boxes, so you don't know how far anything is.
The course is in bad shape. I did not enjoy it at all.
Terrible condition.
Even for $25 the course was in terrible condition. Greens were so slow it was almost impossible to putt on. Tee boxes were basically dirt and weeds. Wouldn't recommend.
Used to be a great course
The course that used to be! I had the pleasure of playing this course when it first opened years ago. Since that time, they have had hard financial times, and the course shows. The clubhouse is pristine, with facilities for meetings and events. The staff is super friendly . Unfortunately, that is where is ends. The practice facilities are downright poor. The driving range is carved out of the woods, is approximately 30 yards wide, and has flags stuck in the ground in 10 inch high grass. The practice putter/chipping green is ok at best, so in reality, not much motivation to practice at this course. Regarding the course itself. There was never a problem with the layout. Yes, there might be a hole or two that was not designed very well, however, for the most part the holes are memorable to play. The problem here, is pure course conditions. Greens were very slow and bumpy. Many greens had areas of grass that had died. The contours and size of the greens are very well designed, appropriate for the type of shot required, they are just in bad shape. Fairways are bumpy, sparse, and lots of weeds. Bunkers are ok, but they could use a bit more sand in them. The areas outside of the fairways is even more unkept. I spoke to an asst pro who said they are starting to be able to put more into maintenance, bec they realize what they have in this layout. I am hopeful they are successful. Twenty years ago this layout hosted a local tour event! So you know it has that potential. Using golf now I paid only $23 (including tax) for cart and green fee on a Sunday afternoon. It was a good round of practice for the price, although I probably won't go back for awhile bec when you can't really putt bec of the conditions, it really takes away from the golf experience.
The tee boxes were in rough shape, needed mowing. The greens needed the same thing, there were very fuzzy and slow. It took that part of the game away

greens and fairways need maintenance
Greens were not uniformed is speed, some was fast, some slow, and some were very slow. Fairways had patchy high grass here and there, also alot of dirt spots.
potential
Love the layout and scenery, nice change from the more urban courses you find in south florida. However it does need some maintenance all around, makes it interesting given how long and narrow course plays from back tees.
Has a couple of tight holes but otherwise fairly open
This is a formerly great course in need of a little TLC. Due to the attractive pricing from Golfnow this is worth playing but it wouldn't be my first choice.
This course was laid back. I felt really relaxed , everybody who works there is super friendly
Great atmosphere. Friendly people that work there. Laid back. Fast play
