Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club
About
Belle Glade Municipal Golf Club (formerly known as Sugar Cane Golf Club), as its name would imply, sprawls across western Palm Beach County's vast sugar cane fields. Opened in 1987, the golf course features mature landscaping and a classic design that is challenging but playable. Water hazards come into play several times throughout the course and there are also numerous strategically placed traps concentrated along the greensides. One of the best aspects of the golf course that makes it stand out from others in Palm Beach County is the peace and quiet offered by its secluded setting. Golfers are surrounded by wildlife including alligators and bald eagles rather than cars and homes. It is one of the county's best-kept secrets.

Just ok
Course is literally in a sugar cane farming community. We were about the only ones on the course and played 27 holes. Back nine nicer than the front. Greens are in poor condition. But it was an enjoyable day. Paid $25 to play. Barely worth it.
Last resort course
The greens needs to be cut and rolled... weeds, sand and thick grass are growing on 13 of 18 greens. The fairways needs attention and the tee boxes are shaggy and has no real flat footing. All of the carts are full of spider webs... I can go on but why?
LOVE THIS COURSE
"Diamond in the rough"... Play it once... you become addicted... it is awesome...
This course is good chalenge
My husband, and I, like this course, because we can play alone, and the price is good. The second 9, is better . We will go again.
Sugarcane sweet! Belle Glades hidden gem!
Really cool & Amazing Fun course. Super Friendly staff. Front 9 is very deceiving, Trees makes it Look narrow from tee box small elevated greens If your really good your able to drive a couple of the Par 4's Scenic view on the 1st Par 3 Blue tees which sits right along side the Bank of the southeast Dam from Lake Okeechobee, absolutely amazing. We actually witnessed Fishermen catching nice sized Bass along the bank of the Okeechobee. The Back 9 is beautiful! Nice greens open fairways, yet very challenging, fairways in great shape elevated greens in great shape Amazing view of Miles & Miles of Sugarcane. Trust me for the Price there's nothing better. I actually have played this course 4 times in the last 9 days & I Live an hour away! If your looking to get pampered than this is not the course for you, Sign actually reads. If no ones here grab keys play your round & pay when your done, who does that? Free range balls. Country golf at it's finest, Florida style! I can't say enough great things of the course. For the Price I'm definitely coming back at least once a week Fast pace of play, challenging you to wanna play another 9 or even 18 That's how Cool this place is.
Good Time
As soon as you walk up, you realize this is one of those courses that you are going to have a good time on. Great staff, fun layout, great pace of play. The character of the course is displayed on a sign at the 10th tee box: Beware of Gators and Snakes.
Sugar Cane Belle Glade
Great value. Course was in great condition except hole 4 was closed due to recent rains. Saw a gator on one hole. Staff was very friendly and beer was 6 for $10. I look forward to going again
Fun Course
I've played this course a number of times over the years and it's probably in the best shape that I've seen it. That being said the only reason I didn't rate it higher was due to the speed of the greens...sloooooow. Also it appeared the cups hadn't been changed in at least 4 or 5 days...some very ragged. Overall I love the course. Two very different 9's The front winds through the trees and some shots are tight. The back is much longer, more open, and if the wind is blowing you're in for a real test. I'll play again and recommend
Great Billy Course
If you want to get away from the Palm Beaches to golf and have a great time, this is it. No frills, no 5 hour rounds, nobody expecting $5 to put a dirty towel on your clubs. Great value. Just don't expect great greens.
First Timer
Course could be better marked as to the actual location of the upcoming hole. We played 18 and not just 9. Listen to what the course attendant says and don't go looking for your ball in the water--possible snakes or gators. Lost about 5 balls and never looked for them. Greens are nice but not fast. Back 9 is nicer than front. Met some friends from Wisconsin that were staying in Fort Myers and we split the distance difference and came out here. Would do it again--very unusual experience and a lot of fun. Very quiet! A few things could be improved but if you just get a mindset that you play 'em as they lay you'll be fine.
Value
It is not very crowded so we did not feel pressured to play fast.
The course is unique
I had a wonderful time. I really had fun, and the staff was very helpful
Fun in Belle Glade
Sugarcane is a great course for all levels but don't go out there with a country club attitude. There really is no dress code or amenities and people just come to play golf. When this course is in shape it is fantastic and will give you all you can handle.. The front nine will allow you to warm up for the back 9 (MONSTER) which usually feels like you are in a wind test tunnel.
Enjoy the time, look around and see who can spot the most interesting wildlife..

Unique and Challenging
This was my first time playing at Belle Glade Sugarcane Golf Course. The course encompasses two separate areas tucked in between the sugarcane fields and Lake Okeechobee. The front nine holes, are tucked up against the lake protective berm, providing for a breezy yet narrow nine holes, most under 425 yards and with water hazards.while on the other hand the back nine is open wide with ranging from 175-500 yards. The 9th hole is the monster long with a blind shot off the tee over water. While remaining holes offer water hazards most of it runs along the left sides of the fairways. For the price, I would recommend it over other for the challenging, ease of play, and ideal conditions.
bad place to play and no money value
wont recommend to friends because very cheap place to play needs renovations
the course has great features
With wildlife like you will see cranes gators and other wild life. It's got some tough holes narrow holes and very windy
Fun course
Very interesting course.
Holes 4 ,5 and 6 are some of the toughest back to back to back holes you can play in a county with 150 golf courses.
Greens are very small and are improving in condition.
Friendly staff that is usually out mowing this vast area.
Nothing but cane fields and farms surround this course.
Great course, wonderful landscape
Challenging, lots of water-traps, get to know BIG ED!!!
...and if you are lucky see the sugarcane fields burning whilst
you sink your last putt!
Great experience and a course in very good conditions.
