North Palm Beach Country Club
About
North Palm Beach Country Club is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway atop the Seminole Ridge, offering scenic views and a rolling terrain covered with natural oak hammocks. The golf course is one of only two municipal courses in the country that are Jack Nicklaus Signature courses. It has received much acclaim for being not only one of the best public golf courses in Florida, but also one of the best publics in the U.S. There are rolling fairways and undulating greens, many of which are fiercely guarded by bunkers. Although a bevy of challenges has been built into the course, flexibility was also incorporated into the design with five sets of tees. North Palm Beach Country Club offers playability to a range of skill levels but from the back tees it is a formidable challenge to even the most advanced golfers.

A Must Play Course
Challenging but fair. Awesome layout and in great condition. Just when you think you’ve had an easy hole (eg wide fairway) something challenging is just around the corner. A good thinking persons course but plenty of scope for playable misses. Really enjoyed playing this track.
Late evening
Played “18” around 4pm on a Sunday. Was not busy. Pace of play was good. Had to pass a few holes cause 2somes walking the course and I would have never finished before sun down. Course is pretty difficult. Elevated greens, lots of fairway hills and large sand traps.
Each hole is it’s own
Fantastic features that keeps your senses heightened to make great shots
Place is going to be awesome
Place is still getting some work done with clubhouse, restaurant, cart path work. But the course it’s self was in great shape, fun but challenging track no matter which tees you play from . Will def be back for another round!
Newly renovated.... just opened and construction is ongoing.
When it is completed it will be spectacular! Definitely a must play if you are in the area. Hard to believe this a municipal course.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Very Happy
Was in WPB for the weekend and booked the week of. Beautiful layout, tons of water, tons of sand. Would definitely recommend. Will be back next time I am in the area.
Course was in very good shape. Fun course with some interesting elevation changes. Only negative is that I booked through golf now and the course had no record of it. Essentially I paid twice and wasn’t able to get in touch with Golf now for them to return my money.
Great Track!
Great track, conditions are above avg. It gets a good amount of play and they grounds crew does an excellent job keeping up. They are almost done with the clubhouse. Great design, pull a lot of different clubs off tee and have lots of different looks into the greens. Greens rolled well. Will def. be back.
Worth waiting for
Played the back nine today and immediately looked at booking a tee time for the weekend. This course has gone through a major redo and will be incredible in a few weeks. Fairways are on par with PGA National just up the road. Green are super true and getting faster by the day. Not sure who the designer is but they love their sand traps! Would definitely recommend.
Clubhouse under construction
Forgot to mention in my previous review the clubhouse is being rebuilt. No food or beverage service at the course. Don’t let that dissuade you from playing. There was a temporary entrance as well just north of the regular entrance.
Course is great again
We hadn’t played here since our vacation in 2015 and stayed away because of reviews on returning to area. Played today 8/23/19 and the course was in great shape. The fairways and rough were in great condition. Greens were aerated a couple of weeks ago and were rolling fine today. There are still a few patches of course they are working on, but nothing to alter play. I highly recommend playing the course.
Course Closed
The course is closed for extensive renovation. Clubhouse has been demolished. Tees and greens will be stripped and rebuilt. Fairways will be killed and sprigged with Celebration. I don’t know the expected reopening date. I’m not local— got all this from researching village board records and the RFP, all of which are on line.
Stay Away
Course being shut down May 1 and staff does not care about you. Discounted price not worth it. Treated horribly by staff Sent people ahead of us at turn with four golf carts and lied to us about reason Starter and proshop not in line. People hitting into you and cutting in front of you. They don't care Greens burnt out, fairways gone to weeds. Birds and ducks out of control. Trucks running on cart path. Not good at all
Its Jack & Its Public
Not your typical Florida muni course. Adjacent housing only pops up on maybe 25% of the holes, and a three hole stretch (holes 5-7) line the inter-coastal. Nothing reminding you more that you are in Florida than the boats waiting right next to the tee box on hole 5 while the draw bridge to cross US HWY 1 opens up. Aside from the surrounding scenery the green complexes on this course are something out of the ordinary. Most are elevated and feature a lot of different ridges and breaks in the greens. Took a while for me to get used to the fact that in S. Florida most putts play pretty straight no matter how sever the break looks, but at N. Palm beach CC they break and they break a lot. Something strange that I noticed before I even teed off was the set of tee boxes offered. The back tees played just over 7k yards at 7079. The next set up played at just over 6300 yards. Although I was able to manage the back tees I thought that was a much too large gap. I think there are a large amount of players that fit somewhere right in the middle of those two yardages at around 6600 yards. Which then allows the player of that skill set and distance to play the course the way the architect meant for it to be played. At the very least a combo of the two tees can easily be offered on the scorecard. Final thought is this is a really great muni course available in an area where public golf is not the standard. To be able to jump on a Jack re-design for a relatively reasonable price (depending on time of year) is something worth playing when in the area.
So Sad.......
This was once the absolute go to golf course in the area. I played last Thursday for the first time in over 6-7 years. I was actually shocked at the course conditions. Greens were actually pretty good but brown and bare everywhere else. This truly a fantastic layout with some of the most challenging greens in South Florida but it looks like money is obviously an issue. Locals have said the budgets are simply set too low for the course to operate with in its means. Also, rumor has it Jack wants his name left in the past. Summer rates are ok but I couldn't imagine paying $100 here in the winter. I really hope they turn this place around around because it truly is very unique and a blast to play......
Course is an embarrassing dump
Its criminal what this place charges for what you get. The greens were covered entirely by sand. They didn't discount the rate . See the pictures. They were unplayable. The bunkers are straight dirt. Half the grass on the course is dead because they refuse to spend the money on watering it. The GPS in our cart was frozen the whole time. They also charge $12 for a small bucket of balls which is also criminal. This place should be bulldozed and forgotten. Stay far away.
Solid upscale muni
North Palm Beach Country Club sits about ten minutes from Jack Nicklaus' home, so it made all the sense in the world that the Golden Bear would be the one to renovate it a decade ago. The result is a compact, thoughtful design with a particularly undulating set of greens that can be scary when they get up to speed. Prime season rates reach into triple digits, but some good twilight deals can be found year-round.
